CEO - JOEL CRAFTON of Craftone Music Interviews music super star
Ray Parker Jr. without a doubt,
has always had the
formula for great music

JC: It is about formula when you mention the name Ray
Parker Jr. If one was to classify his style of music
or attempt to categorize it, you might have a hard
time because Ray is so versatile. Ray is an excellent
guitarist, singer, song writer and performer with more
than an era of hit songs. Ray Parker Jr. has a new CD called, “I’m Free” that includes various music styles: Pop, R&B, Jazz and Reggae. There is something on this CD for everyone.

JC: Some of Ray Parker Jr. accomplishments are as
follows: writer and performer of the movie theme song“ Ghostbusters”. Song writer, producer, and singer of “A Women Needs Love”, “Jack and Jill“, and Songwriter for the song “Mr. Telephone Man” preformed by New Addition. As Ray and I talked during this interview, Ray was thankful for having the opportunity to work with Stevie Wonder. Ray credits Stevie Wonder for inspiring him to write music, and overlaying tracks in recording.

Ray Parker Jr.:
If you can remember a song that is easy to hum, you
will remember it 20 years from now.
It is very important not to lose sight of one’s
creativity. The advancement of music technology has
given birth to new music artistry in the form of
sampling. My songs have been sampled which has further credit my works. In reference to the old days people that had hit records where selling their publishing rights, unaware that years later this would make it possible for them to get paid from their works being sampled, which generated thousands if not millions of dollars in lost revenue in publishing rights to the song creator.

Ray Parker Jr.: I was at Mismaloya Beach in Puerto Vallarta Mexico, I was sitting there with my guitar, and I found myself writing the song "Mismaloya Beach". The song is an instrumental and the title alone has become a conversation piece because, it is hard to pronounce for some. People are always asking what is Mismaloya Beach
